The journey of Brillio Learning, originally known as NexGen Coding, began well before its official launch in 2020. The inspiration was born during a visit to a small village in India, where Mr. Devaansh Saxena encountered the Shri Ganga Prasad Memorial School. Despite its limited staff, lack of infrastructure, and absence of technology, this school was a beacon of hope for its students, who were eager to learn but lacked the resources to fulfill their potential. This experience was a turning point for Mr. Saxena, highlighting the stark educational disparities that exist around the world. He realized that two equally talented children could have vastly different futures due to unequal access to educational opportunities.
Upon returning to the United States, the contrast between the well-resourced schools he was accustomed to and the underfunded school in India lingered in Mr. Saxena’s mind. When the pandemic hit and schooling shifted online, he saw an opportunity: if education could be delivered virtually, why not extend this to the children he had met in India? He shared his vision with his friend, Mr. Vatsal Garg, and together they initiated online tutoring sessions via Zoom for children in homeless shelters and underserved areas.
This simple yet powerful idea laid the foundation for what would become Brillio Learning. Mr. Saxena and Mr. Garg co-founded NexGen Coding with the mission to provide free technology education to marginalized communities. As the initiative gained momentum and expanded beyond coding to a broader educational scope, the organization was rebranded as Brillio Learning in 2022.
Mr Saxena got the opportunity to visit India again after the pandemic. But this time, he went with a plan. He donated some laptops and set up Wi-Fi at the school with the money raised by a "GoFundMe" campaign to start online classes with the school. This model of equipping underserved areas with technology and providing online education is now central to Brillio Learning’s mission to uplift underrepresented communities. (Check it out in our interview!!)
Since its inception, Brillio Learning has flourished under the leadership of Mr. Saxena and Mr. Garg. The organization has expanded to over 12 states, impacting over 1,000 students across two countries. With a dedicated team of more than 20 instructors in the US and India, and partnerships with six multinational outreach organizations, Brillio Learning organizes free STEM education courses for children in homeless shelters and remote villages. These efforts have sparked a love for STEM in young minds, inspiring them to dream bigger.
While the numbers reflect our organization's growth, the true impact of Brillio Learning is seen in the transformative effect on underrepresented communities. Our innovative approach has been praised by NGOs such as the Elizabeth Coalition and Shri Ganga Prasad Memorial School in India. They recognize Brillio Learning’s unique ability to introduce new ways of thinking to underprivileged children.
